Cheltenham maintain 100 per cent start to the season
Cheltenham 50 v 5 Wells
Cheltenham maintained their 100 per cent start to the Western Counties North season with a convincing win against new boys Wells. Cheltenham opened their scoring in the third minute by way of a Pat Hillier try, which was converted by Josh Herbert for an early 7-0 lead. The home side started to dominate affairs, and after 10 minutes, Tom Lait went over for an unconverted try to lead 12-0.
Wells then failed to clear the ball from defence and Stefan Abaseasa forced his way over for a unconverted try to lead to 17-0. Cheltenham were then reduced to 14 men on 30 minutes when referee Owen Taylor showed Jason Graham a yellow card.
However, Cheltenham extended their lead when Matt Taylor broke from deep and found James Hillier, who burst through several tackles before finding Mike Dodge, who grabbed the try with Herbert adding the extras for 24-0.
Right on the stroke of half-time Adam Pickford got a fifth try for the home side with Herbert adding the extras to lead 31-0.
