The new season will soon be upon us and what an exciting year we have ahead at CRFC. Rugby will be played at Newlands for the first time on the brand new and recently installed RFU Approved Artificial Grass Pitch (AGP). And what’s more this coincides with the opening of the first class expansive and prestigious new changing rooms, surely crowning Newlands as the best rugby and community facility in the county.

To celebrate the grand opening we will be holding a Sportsman’s Dinner at Newlands on Wednesday 5th September, 2018.

Our well known guest speakers are:

Wayne Barnes – International Referee & Barrister

David Flatman – TV Pundit, Ex England & Bath

Danielle Waterman – World Cup winner with England & Wasps

Our ‘Mistress of Ceremonies’ presiding over the evening will be Jill Douglas, TV Broadcaster and CRFC Ladies President.

The dinner presents an opportunity to raise funds for the Freddie Crisp Trust Fund. Many of you will be aware that former player Mike Crisp is battling with incurable Motor Neurone Disease, and the club and wider rugby community, wish to support the trust set up to help support his 2-year old son Freddie’s future.

The format will follow the same as for last year’s hugely successful Lions Dinner held in a luxuriously appointed marquee with catering to be provided by Wesley House Events.

The cost for a table of 10 will be £650 and I have enclosed a booking form for your convenience. We have already received high demand for tables following release of the speakers & date. Given that we will be limited to 30 tables, early booking is essential!
