Maidenhead 32 v 27 Cheltenham

Cheltenham’s first game back after the Christmas break could not of been tougher away to second place Maidenhead who Beat Cheltenham narrowly at the start of the season .Writes Derek M Clifford. Sadly for Cheltenham it was the Home side who edged out the league leaders in this enthralling 9 try feast of competitive rugby. After 22 minutes of equally contested rugby it was Cheltenham who opened the score with wing Richard Morris finishing off a 8 phase move with the try and Josh Herbert added the touch line conversion. But such was the nature of this compelling game the Home side hit back within 6 minutes with scrum half Elliott Brown splitting the Cheltenham defensive cover for the try with Dave Hodgson adding the extras. ... The festive season is upon us, but such is the tight timeline between the end of the holidays and our next South West 1 East league assignment that it won’t be a period of complete rest for the Tigers. While the players will be 'downing tools' briefly during the Christmas holiday season, don't think for a second that the Tigers will be putting their feet up! With two tough games against teams in the top four, Maidenhead (away) and Coney Hill at home, we can't afford to take our foot off the pedal! Maintaining a collective focus and purpose, free of all other outside distractions (league positions, injuries/ unavailability etc) will be critical for the Tigers as the competition progresses from this point forward. ...
