Overview of 2015-2016 Season – Director of Rugby

Well what a year and initiation into Cheltenham RFC. As new Director of Rugby I have had a wonderful season full of highs and some lows. Surrounded by a strong coaching team, a supportive committee and an awesome set of lads I feel more like a veteran tiger every week.

We have a superb facility and a strong family friendly atmosphere from the minis to senior rugby. I feel very lucky to be a part of the new direction the club is taking and hope to be a significant factor on this journey. I am keen to build up a player development pathway at the club with a strong community of practice ethos. Where we share ideas to develop our athletes into good people with the skill set of an all black!!

Our senior team is developing well and we have achieved most of the targets we set ourselves at the start of the season. We have finished mid table and played some great rugby against some of the best teams in our league. We have progressed well throughout the season winning 8 from 12 games since the New Year. There is strong competition for places and training numbers are good.

So Cheltenham RFC looks healthy and we are growing all the time. We have an outstanding Minis and Juniors section supported by coaches with a thirst to learn. Our Ladies section is stronger than ever and we are excited by the new coaching team for next season. Finally the Colts have had an outstanding season and a wealth of talent that should strengthen our senior side as they make that transition to men’s rugby.

Thank you Cheltenham Tigers
