Wheelchair Rugby

13th June 2023
About The Club

Wheelchair Rugby is a fast paced game, played by both men and women. The sport has a classification system, with restrictions on the number of ‘points’ on court, meaning that whatever the physical impairment, the player has a vital role within the team.

The club welcomes players of all disabilities, with there being two versions of the game:

Paralympic version: For players with impairment in three or more limbs.

Wheelchair Rugby 5s: Open to all physical disabilities.

The club, newly formed in 2023, is a great place to socialise and meet new people, in addition to offering the platform to play competitively, whether that be with the ambition of representing Great Britain, or playing for fun. Cheltenham Tigers organise weekly training sessions, regular team social events and entry into national competitions.

The team are always on the lookout for new players and volunteers. If you are interested, please contact Tom Denmead via the details below.
