Former Women’s player and now backs’ coach of a hugely successful Women’s squad, Bee Mocellin recently attended the prestigious Rugby Writers lunch at the Oval in London alongside Women’s first team captain of the last four years, Maddie Massie.
Bee was awarded a tankard in recognition of her services to rugby and is seen here at the lunch in a photo with Jill Douglas and Maddie Massie.
Bee Mocellin joined Cheltenham Tigers some eighteen years ago as fresh-faced student, having completed a coaching degree at Hartpury College. A player for a number of years, even putting her boots on again last season to have a couple of run outs for the 2nd XV.
Always keen to progress her coaching knowledge and-all round club commitments, Bee has been head of Women’s and Girls’ rugby for 5 years at Cheltenham Tigers, driving forward significant improvements in the Women’s game at the club. She cut her coaching teeth with Girls’ rugby at 11’s and 15’s, some Colts coaching and more recently, coaching Thornbury Ladies. This was followed by effectively hanging up her playing boots two years ago and accepting the backs’ coaching role at Cheltenham Tigers, which has seen her take massive strides in her coaching development.
Bee is a major contributor in the coaching group and a great team player; two years in and two Championship wins is not a bad start to a coaching career in a male dominated business!
Everyone at the club is delighted at the recognition and acknowledgement of years of commitment to the game and specifically, the Women’s game.
Congratulations, Bee!
