Show Tim Some Support On ‘The Great Rugger Run’!
Former Tigers’ player Tim Tunnicliff is heading off on his third and longest Great Rugger Run, which will see him cover an incredible distance of 1,000km (1 million metres) in just 25 days! And if that wasn’t brilliant enough, every stride of the way, Tim will be raising vital funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, as well as other MND causes such as the 4ED Campaign and the Freddie Crisp Trust.
His run will kick off on 9th August in St David’s- Wales’ most-westerly point- and finish here with us at Newlands on 2nd September, where he first started playing rugby! Along the way, Tim endeavours to visit as many clubs as he can, to get to know the rugby folk between Wales and Gloucestershire!
The end of Tim’s run will be marked by a Charity Vets Match between a ‘Rugger Run XV’ and the wonderful ‘Eggchasers XV’! Tim will be inviting players to join him and hopes to secure at least one player from each of the clubs he has represented throughout his career. Early indications are that this could be a strong side, potentially with some well-known names from the rugby world!
The match will be held here at Newlands at 5pm (following the club’s 1st XV match) on Saturday 2nd September.
Hope to see you there!
