About Us

Founded in 2016, Cheltenham Touch Rugby Club started as an O2 touch centre and has grown year-on-year, celebrating our 10th year in 2026. Now, with over 40 attendees to the Monday night ‘Pitch Up and Play’ session each week all year round and our Wednesday training leading our competitive teams to success in regional and national competitions, we cater to all ages and abilities for this fantastic mixed sport.

As a club, we compete in the England National Touch Series for both men’s/women’s and mixed each summer, competing against some of the best teams in the country. Some of our talented players have also been chosen to represent England and other nations, including Ireland and Wales, in the upcoming European Touch Championships in Vichy, France, with other players having been through the England Touch High Performance Program.

In 2026, we had 20 regional representative players and referees across the South West Saxons and West Wildcats with the following teams winning their grade:

South West Saxons Mixed Open
South West Saxons Senior Women
South West Saxons Senior Men
South West Saxons Men’s 50s

Many of our junior players have been chosen to represent their regions in the upcoming Junior Touch Nationals in August 2026.

In 2024, we were incredibly proud to have 7 players and 3 coaches selected as part of England squads for the 2024 Touch World Cup held in Nottingham, and 5 junior internationals head to France for the 2024 Junior Touch Championships.

We pride ourselves on our inclusivity as a club and our continued development of players new to the sport, as well as being a fun and competitive team for experienced players to push themselves further.

Session times:

Monday:  7pm – 8.30pm: (Pitch up and Play)

Wednesday: 7pm – 8.30pm: (Training – or seasonal competitive leagues – contact for details)

We play all year round, rain or shine!

Socials & events:

We are an inclusive and social club, hosting events throughout the year including quiz nights, lawn bowls, monthly after-session drinks and food, our annual Club Dinner (a big occasion with now over 60 attendees), our Charity Cup, participating in Run Cheltenham and many more fantastic events for everyone to get together and foster our community spirit.

Tours:

We often promote away weekends to tournaments both within the UK and overseas. For our 10th year anniversary tour, a group of players participated in Touch n Tapas in Elche, Spain with further opportunities to travel coming up in the near future.
